A deliciously dark and enchanting nightscape of Freycinet just after dusk. Taken by Di from the beach at the front of Freycinet Lodge. In the Freycinet National Park in Tasmania. The extreme silence of that moment punctuated by the gentle lapping of the water and the occasional ting of boats and ropes on masts. The sky was absolutely divine with a tiny letterbox of the night sky evident and reflected into the water.
The lights from both moored boats and houses appear like jewels, creating the effect of a bedazzled velvet. This is a real feature painting and would definitely be a conversation piece over dinner or inviting contemplation and perhaps evoking memory and a sense of serenity.
